As we are entering the end of 2020, I am reviewing what I think is the album of the year. 2020 was a crazy year but it was a great year in the hip-hop industry. There were a number of great albums released in the past 12 months. Some top albums this year include Legends Never Die by Juice WRLD, My Turn by Lil Baby, The GOAT by Polo G, Savage Mode II by 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon by Pop Smoke, and Eternal Atake by Lil Uzi Vert. The GOAT by Polo G gets my vote as best album this year. It has 16 tracks and it is Polo G’s second album. It was released on May 15, 2020. Polo G is a 21-year-old rapper from Chicago. Some of my favorite tracks from The GOAT include “Martin & Gina”, “21”, “I Know”, “Beautiful Pain”, “Be Something”, “DND” and “Wishing For A Hero.” This album has a variety of lyrical songs and trap songs. In songs like “I Know” and “Martin and Gina” Polo raps about the real world. He changes styles in songs like “Go Stupid” and “Wishing For A Hero”. Polo G has a bright future and I am looking forward to a big year in 2021.
