Music Review: Lil Baby’s My Turn

By Jaleel Johnson

Lil Baby’s second album My Turn, which dropped on February 28, 2020, is one of the best albums he has released. This album drops some hard hit features on songs with DaBaby, Lykke Li and Yo Gotti. The 26-track list is filled with features from big time artists like Gunna, 42 Dugg, Future, Llil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, and Rylo Rodriguez.  There’s not one  song on the album that doesn’t  make you want to start dancing or getting hype.  Some of my favorite songs to listen to on the album are “Grace” featuring 42 Dugg, “Emotionally Scarred “, ”Humble”, “Get Money”, and “All In.”  The song that everyone has been going crazy about is “We Paid” with 42 Dugg. The song is now up to 18 million views on YouTube .  My Turn became the first album to go double platinum in 2020 .  My Turn  sold nearly 200,000 and quickly hit number one on the Billboard 200 where it spent five weeks at the top. Lil Baby definitely went off  on this album and had some major hits songs like “The Bigger Picture” and “Code of tha Streets.” Lil Baby is becoming one of the best in the game and his star is rising fast. I am ready to hear the next album.
