These last 3 weeks we’ve been able to have a lot of time to ourselves under self quarantine. During this time I’ve been able to enjoy a lot of fun ways to pass the time with your family. Recently we finished watching the Netflix documentary, Tiger King. It was about a man by the name of Joe Exotic who owned the GW Zoo in Garvin County, Oklahoma. Right from the start the series pulls you in with drama over the treatment of his tigers and how his competitor’s will stop at nothing to see his zoo shut down. One of the more controversial parts of the show is whether or not his arch-nemesis, Carole Baskins, had a hand in the disappearance of her husband. It is often suggested that she got rid of him so she could have all of his wealth to spend on her tiger zoo. After several political elections (including running for president), tiger attacks, protests, and legal schemes, Joe Exotic was arrested for allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to kill Carole Baskin. I’d recommend this documentary series to anyone looking for a drama show to binge for a few hours.
Now I know not everyone out there in the world is a fitness nut, but there are still things you can do to stay in shape from home. Setting goals for yourself when it comes to pushups, sit ups, and other activities can keep you in shape even if you’re not an athlete. It’s hard for a lot of us to stay in shape while we’re in self isolation but it won’t hurt to go for a walk every now and then around the block. It’s recommended that you spend at least 20 minutes outside every day whether that’s enjoying a walk, doing yard work, or enjoying some sun. It’s all up to you.
Since we’re stuck inside for the next few days with your family, you might as well make it enjoyable, right? These last few nights I’ve had a lot of fun playing board games, watching movies, and drawing with my family. This is a great opportunity to spend time with your loved ones. So while you’re at home for the next few weeks, make the most of your time away from school. Have fun, try some self improvement, and most of all love your family.
